And I Will Never Be Ignored

I’m not sure what it is, but I never seem to get tired of doing “darker” photos in Second Life. I’m not quite like that at all. I’m more Enid Sinclair than Wednesday Addams in my day to day life. More kittens and bunnies, less snakes and ravens. My RL oldest sister was what probably would be considered ethergoth. You know, all lace and ethereal music and morbid poetry. Her whole aesthetic was amazing. My aesthetic is probably … well, a lot more colorful and pop princess and boho chic and basic B. But for some reason in SL, the “dark” photos just speak to me and I love doing them.

Who knows? Maybe I have a little bitty bit of goth in me after all.

This Ain’t Nothing Ordinary For Me

It has been a total day so far. I woke up to a computer that would not turn on. And of course, immediately I panicked because that’s what you do when your computer won’t turn on. Plus, my throat is sore and I have chills. Getting sick right now is not an option. But I guess my body feels like it is? Rude. But it turns out that a cat stepped on the off button of my power strip, and if I do have a cold, it’s not really the worst time to get one. Still, though… What a day it has been already and it’s not even 3pm yet.

I think it’s time for retail therapy.

I Shouldn’t Think The Things I’m Thinking

I’m a really big introvert. People who know me well know that about me. I need alone time like I need a heartbeat. I love time to myself. Always have, always will, no apologies. But I will admit that sometimes in SL, my chosen solitude is inconvenient.

Like when I get some sexy new lingerie that I really want to take a photo of and I have an idea and there is no semi-hot guy to take pictures with. 😂

Oh well. At least The Fifty opens today and you can also get some sexy lingerie!

I Am Confidence and Insecurity

Do you ever struggle with your face?? I mean, in photos. Not just… Well, okay, you could struggle with your face in general. I struggled with my face in this photo. I guess not so much my face face, but my eyes. I could not figure out where the heck to stick my eyes! I use the Lelutka Axis HUD in a lot of my photos to move my eyes and adjust my mouth and sometimes my brows. It’s a really nice HUD if you’re a photographer and I like it a lot. But I’d love to be able to do more tiny little increments for my eyes. Of course, I could have adjusted one eye at a time here, but hindsight is 20/20.

Unlike my eyes that look like I have no sight and I don’t know what’s going on. 😅

I Know There’s Gonna Be Some Brighter Days

I really love all kinds of colors. If you asked me my favorite color, I’d tell you 3, but I have more. Typically, I love pastels, but jewel tones and vivid colors also speak to me. I wear a lot of colors, both in my online and offline life. In a world full of colors, why would I only wear black, you know? Decorating is a little different for me. I usually stick with “natural” colors because it’s calming to me and my anxiety brain likes it. But I don’t know… Maybe it’s time for some brighter colors for my home.

I’ve Been Careless With A Delicate Man

I really enjoy doing photos that make me seem a little different than I actually am. Like take today’s photo, for example. I’m not really a “sexy” person. I don’t typically run around SL in sky high platform heels and shiny skimpy outfits. But I think that’s what makes it so fun! Because maybe there is a little bit of *that* girl in me. I just keep her hidden away until it’s time to shine.

She Glows Around You Like The Moon

One of the things that makes me happy since coming back to SL is finding that so many of my faves are still here and still making magic in their stores. I absolutely loved Enfant Terrible back a few years ago. I never blogged them much, which is weird when I think about it. But I always remember wearing something by them to an awards show back in 2017. (You can actually see my outfit here!)

When I saw these gorgeous dresses at Anthology, oh my gosh, I literally squealed. And even better, they had a Lara X Petite size!! Listen, I know some of y’all want to absolutely topple over with the biggest chest possible, but some of us like to be smaller chested, so I will always try to support any brand making Petite X clothing!

Plus? I get to look like a beautiful enchanted princess while I do it. Win win!

You Belong Among The Wildflowers

So I’ll admit it, I’m kind of having *a day* today. I am tired, I am stressy, I want to eat all the food in the world. I’m cold. I’m wearing socks that won’t stay up. My hair dried weird. And I’m pretty sure I have scurvy.

But you know what? It’s okay. Because today in SL, I’m a fairy, flitting among the wildflowers, enjoying the sun. And that makes it all better.

Not For The Weak

I don’t really believe in “guilty pleasures.” I think if you like something, you just like it. And if someone finds it embarrassing, that’s okay. You like it and that’s good enough. One of MY favorite things in Second Life are events! More specifically, blogging events! Every time I say that, someone usually pops up with “Oh I just CAN’T do events. I only like stores. It’s better.” Well okay, you think that if you want to think that.

But I love events because I love being able to find lots of things to try to put together. I also love the *start* of an event. When everyone is getting excited, the designers are setting up, the bloggers begin finding things they want to blog, notices are flying, Flickr ads start appearing. It’s exciting to me!

So speaking of events… Anthology opens on the 19th! I’m so happy! I know the team behind it are always going to throw a great event, and the designers involved are so good. Be prepared for more posts soon!

Like A Girl

I don’t regret a whole lot of things about my life, but one thing that I’m slightly regretful for is not being a “girl’s girl” earlier in my life. I fell into the trap that a lot of young women fall into. Guys are “less drama.” Guy friends are better. I don’t get along with other girls. I’m a cool girl. I’m just one of the guys. Blah blah blah.

I cherish my friendships with women now. I am absolutely not one of the guys and I don’t want to be. Men aren’t less drama. A dramatic person is a dramatic person regardless of gender identity. I like to think of myself as a girl’s girl. I am a lot more selective of the men I choose as friends now, and I don’t hold back who I am as a woman just to prove that I can hang.

But I think that’s just growing up.
