Paperwork Builds

William Weaver has been a Flickr contact of mine for a while. I’ll admit, I’m probably the worst Flickr contact ever because I kinda suck at commenting, but I do try to keep up as best I can. He’s kind enough to favorite some of my pictures on occasion, and I always try to keep up with those who are nice enough to like what I do.

Last night I was doing my last “web round” before bed and noticed on Flickr that he had a link to his marketplace store – Paperwork. AND he had some really cool photo skyboxes! Not only are they cool, but they’re FREE. I got them all and today got to play with them.

These shots are totally raw except for cropping, rounding the corners [don’t sue me, Apple], and adding my signature. The lighting is all done within SL with the help of the builds.

My computer is not the best or anything, but as you can see, the skyboxes make it really easy to take some great shots! And it’s really funny because the builds themselves, just in the regular light, don’t look like much of anything really. But if you download the Windlight setting William has offered on the marketplace pages, all you have to do is use that setting, turn on shadows and local lights, and boom! Instapretty! On that last shot, I used the mirror water, put the build just under the water, and used one of the Windlight settings provided in Firestorm. I think it turned out nicely!

Well, That’s What I Saw Her In.

When I put this outfit on, I thought of that line from Mean Girls. “I saw Cady Heron wearing army pants and flip flops, so I bought army pants and flip flops.”

Here Kitty Kitty!

So if you haven’t heard, Gospel Voom’s sweet kitty, Archibald, was hit by a car recently. Bless his strong little heart, he managed to get himself home and has been fighting like a champion to recover after several days in the hospital. Naturally, the cost of the surgeries and other veterinary care is pretty super high. I think most of us know the cost of having our beloved pets taken care of, and the cost of emergency care is even higher.

Truth District and several talented friends from across the grid have come together to help raise funds for Archibald’s expenses. There are some cute items, some of them exclusive to the event, in the fundraiser. On top of that, Gos has his store at Truth District set to 50% off! A Little Cleaning Up

So my dear husband is out of town this weekend, and I figured it would be a great time to clean up a bit around the house. Luckily with the Fancy Feathers collaborative set from Exposeur and Cheeky Pea for Zodiac, I can get all the dusting done!

Miel put out just the cutest little minidresses for today’s Fifty Linden Friday! The Playa dress is short and sexy, and has some great color change options via an easy to use HUD.

Spruce Up Your Space starts tomorrow, and MudHoney has this really sweet Harriet set for us. The chair even has an animation to pet a kitty! My kitty from this month’s Collabor88 has a new place to sit!

Okay, back to cleaning. I can’t let him come home to a dirty house!

There’s No Dye In The Woods!

I really love different colored hair, but I don’t wear it very often. Why? Well, I’m outside a lot, and I’d hate to get lost in the woods and not be able to touch up my hair!

Truth released the new Izzie hair yesterday, and I simply HAD to wear it in pink so I could use the pretty aqua streaks! The streaks are color changeable by a HUD and you can even remove the streaks if you only want your bangs to be one color. There is also a removable color change bow that comes with the hair. I’m not wearing it in the picture because I guess I lost it in the forest or something.

It’s really hard to be pretty and outdoorsy sometimes.

There’s No Gravity To Hold Me Down

I wasn’t going to blog the new Xarra tunic by Maitreya. It’s super cute and I do love it, but I figured it would be blogged a whole lot by much better bloggers than me. 🙂 I was right, of course! [And let’s face it, I’m also super lazy and figured it was a good excuse to not blog.] But I cannot resist blogging an outfit if I actually think I look pretty because I struggle at styling myself!

Truth released new hair today, and I just fell in love with the Bria hair! Long and pinned to the side? Yes, please! Not gonna lie, I’m probably going to try to replicate this style on my real hair and then be sad that it doesn’t look as good.

I hopped over to The Dressing Room today [I THINK it’s the last day for the current cycle, but don’t quote me on that] and picked up these cute Brera pumps by YS&YS. I’m wearing the version with socks, but there is a prim foot-no sock version as well. And I couldn’t resist snatching up Glam Affair‘s Cassiopea Retro skin while I was at TDR! It’s just so pretty!

For someone who didn’t plan on blogging today, I sure have written a lot!

When I Dip, You Dip, We Dip!

I used to dye my hair a lot when I was younger. I’ve had hair that was platinum blonde and jet black and cherry red and many other colors. I haven’t done more than touching up my dark roots or getting highlights in the past few years, but I’m a HUGE fan of the dip dye hair! I’d do it myself if I didn’t think someone would look at me funny. When I saw the Secretive hair by Magika, I loved the style. But more than that – I loved the dipped color!

The dipped colors come with Color Pack #3, so remember that if you’re interested in just dipped colors. I really adore how Magika does the HUDs for the hair because it’s like getting a small fatpack for a low price.

Living At The Vintage Fair

I’ve always loved vintage homes. When I was younger, my older sister used to decorate with all this stuff she’d find at thrift shops and she’d create amazing things with what others would consider “old junk.” I’ve never had the luck she’s had in finding the best old things, but luckily in SL, I can have my vintage style without having to sift through peoples’ used china.

At the Vintage Fair, Funky Junk has brought us the Salinas house. It is too adorable! Of course, I always say that about Funky Junk houses, but I always mean it! There are two bedrooms and a sunken living room, along with the bathroom, dining room, and generously sized kitchen. You can choose to get it without a garage as well.

I learned how to type on a typewriter. Setting it between pica and elite, hearing the satisfying CLACK CLACK CLACK of the keys, it’s definitely a whole different ballgame than typing on a computer. What Next‘s Nouvelle Study has the cutest little typewriter on it! Oh, and a rotary phone! There are plenty of cute animations in the set, too.

And finally for today, you should check out the RemiRetro furniture set from Bella Rose. There’s all kinds of cute pieces in it, and the colors remind me of something you might find in the Brady Bunch house! I think my favorite item in the whole set might just be that clock! Or the radio! Or… well, it’s all so cute, I just can’t pick one favorite!
