I Keep Asking Why

In grief therapy, they tell you often that being creative and expressing your feelings through art is huge. Something about art therapy helping get your emotions out without you having to speak. I guess I sort of get it. There have been a million times in this very blog where my photos aren’t just “Hi, look at my outfit.” I’m not sure I’ve ever really been that kind of blogger. I like to tell a simple story in a simple picture. But I’ve been so creatively blocked in the past almost 3 months. It’s so hard to express yourself through art when your grief is almost the only thing you feel most days.

But then I thought, “Why do I have to be creative? Why can’t I just put out what I feel or even what my days are like?”

I have 3 kittens. They’re almost 6 months old now and I love them so much. They are, most days, the only things that really get me out of bed. They are curious and funny and they force me to remember that life goes on, even on your worst days.

Hello loves! I hope all of you are staying safe, staying home if you’re able, and washing those hands!! I swear, I have washed my hands SO much in the past month, there is not enough lotion in the world for what is happening over here. But better dry hands than getting sick, am I right??

Good Directions

Hello, loves! Have you ever been to a little outdoor country store? When I was younger, my parents and I traveled quite often to see my grandma and we would hit up the most precious little stores. Some of them were regular looking stores, some were in what looked like a person’s house, and some were just little dinky things under tents. It was always so much fun, though! When I was putting my photo together today, that’s what I thought of. Just those little old country stores that barely sold anything really necessary, but were always just so fun to look around.

Life Is A Work Of Art

Hello loves! So apologies for any rambling right now. My allergies are REALLY bad and I’m slightly doped up on allergy meds. 🙂

One thing I have always said about Second Life is that it is like walking into someone’s art every day. Just think about all of the amazing artists we have around here! And honestly, all of us are in some way an artist. Maybe we don’t sit in front of Blender or Maya and make mesh, but we can use what is create to create our own art. And that could be anything from a photograph to just decorating a region or a house to be something fantastic. It’s amazing, all the possibilities we have to be creative.

If you have not been to Anthem or The Liaison Collaborative this month yet, you really need to go. Get some items to create your own art!

A Sweeter Place

Hello, loves! I’m sure I can’t be the only person who just really really loves being in bed these days. In the fall and winter, all I really want to do is get super cozy and snuggle up in my bed with a billion pillows. Believe me, I am super down with a Hygge lifestyle!

But it’s not always easy to get the cozy life I crave sometimes in my offline life. Luckily I can do it easily here in SL! And with some of the sets from The Epiphany this round, it makes it even easier to make the sweet, safe place where I can wrap myself up and relax.

Happy December, loves! Guess what time it is?? No, not just the holiday season. It’s time for the holiday round of The Epiphany!!

The Epiphany starts on December 15th at 10pm SLT and runs for about a month. If you can’t get into the main sim, remember to try the mirror sim. And don’t forget! If you get duplicate items, or something you just didn’t want while playing the machines, you can always turn them in for Epiphany points! And those can get you some pretty cool exclusive items from the participating designers! I know I certainly can’t wait to play!

Will It Be This Way Tomorrow

Hello, beautiful ones! I hope everyone is having a really nice week. Okay, straight up, I’m going to admit something. I’m not feeling terribly creative lately! Or I can’t even say that it’s not that I’m not creative. It’s more that the picture I have in my head of what I want to do in Second Life cannot be done simply because we don’t have the items available. And that is not any fault of a designer, really. While I ADORE when people make items that are useful for photos (like hair that blows in the wind or dresses that are in a different position) we all know that items that are more useful for everyday are probably more profitable. So there will always be some photos we just will never be able to do in SL. That’s okay, though. It just forces us to be a little more creative, I guess!
