How wonderful life is while you’re in the world

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! I got around to playing with some of the amazing items from two of my favorite monthly events, FaMESHed and Collabor88!

Rebel Hope is at FaMESHed with the simply cute Pippa sweaters! It’s just a basic sweater with short sleeves, which makes it really great for spring when you’re not sure if it’s going to be cool or warm. I threw it over a [texture] shirt because sometimes you just don’t want to display a ton of cleavage.

Collabor88‘s Rockabilly theme this month is a great one! I am in love with Truth‘s Thelma hair for the event. The bow is color change, and there is an option to not have the headband on at all. The blue bow matches the sky color of the Moxie heels from Fri.day, also at Collabor88. These heels are sky high! They are add-ons for the Slink HIGH feet, so be sure you have those if you get these gorgeous shoes.

Toothache!

Ouch, I have a toothache tonight! And why? Because of Candy Fair! It’s so sweet, it made my teeth hurt! Candy Fair starts on October 4th, but I got a chance to head in early today to look around.

There are three sims of sugary goodness that includes everything from clothes to poses to kids stuff to home decor. I will admit that I didn’t care for a lot of the clothes that I’ve seen so far because I kept stumbling onto candy colored corsets, but I lost my mind in the poses and home decor section! The things for the kiddos are so so cute, too! There really is something for everyone at the Candy Fair.

The Candy Fair starts on October 4th and runs until October 18th. Remember to bring a toothbrush!

Strong Like Bull

Hey hey, it’s almost May! Jane dropped some great new releases recently and Zodiac is going strong. Strong like bull!

The Day Trip dress from Jane is one of those beauties that you can totally dress up or down, whatever your style is in that moment. I really love versatile pieces and this is definitely that kind of dress!

I totally fell in love with the Andorra necklace that appears to be a collaboration piece between LouLou & Co and Virtual Insanity for Zodiac. It’s girly enough for someone like me, but still has an edge to it.

I took these photos out at Cica Ghost’s Rust exhibit. It’s really a cool build, so I suggest checking it out.

Mix Em Up

So I love events. I really do. But the problem with events is that sometimes I just get totally caught up in blogging the newest releases from certain events. At home, I tend to wear a lot of older items, so figured tonight I’d go ahead and blog one of those looks. I’m A Unicorn

I really hadn’t planned on blogging this outfit. It was just a fun thing I threw together before heading out to a party last night. But I showed a pic of the skirt on plurk, and Gogo said I reminded her of a unicorn. How could I not blog my unicorn outfit after that??

Auxiliary has these cute Alluring Mini Skirts out at Collabor88 and I have never been one to pass up a cute mini skirt! It is mesh, and you will probably need to wear underpants with it unless you are either A) good at modding alpha layers, or B) don’t mind flashing cooter. Auxiliary isn’t officially open yet, but from the sneak previews they’ve given us so far, I cannot WAIT until they do!

Also at Collabor88, Ploom has this lovely Tart hair. I used to have my hair like this ages ago where it’s a little longer in the front. I’m wearing the dipped color and there is a HUD to change your colors! If it came in a rainbow dipped color, I’d be in heaven!

Hey baby, what’s your sign?

Zodiac is coming! Brought to you by The Hottie Cooterati Experience, Zodiac is a monthly themed event [and that means discounts for you!] and starts with a roar with my favorite sign [because it’s my sign!] – LEO!

Elymode made the Leoness mesh skirt for the event and it’s really cute! Now I am usually a medium in standard sizing, but I found the medium too big in this skirt, so I’m wearing a small. If you’re a little more on the curvy side, try this skirt on. I think you’ll find that it’s a more generous in the hips than some that are out there.

Glitterati has the Wild pack of poses for Zodiac, and I really like them. But I’m a bit of a pose whore [about 10,000 poses currently take up space in my inventory – possibly more] so I’m ALWAYS happy to add more to the bunch!

Zodiac opens tomorrow, July 23rd [the start of the Leo cycle!] and runs until August 17th. I’ll have the SLurl later when I’m allowed to give it out!

You Don’t Need A Mirror To Know You Look Good

Come On Over

When I saw the new Shasta dresses from JANE, I immediately thought of a pretty housewife, maybe back in the 50s or so. I absolutely love vintage inspired clothing, so this is definitely a dress for me!

Okay, so maybe it’s a little shorter and more low cut than an old school housewife would wear, but that’s what makes it fresh! It is mesh, of course, and comes in standard sizes. By the way, all of the older JANE mesh clothing [before standard sizing!] is on clearance! But hurry in, you only have a couple of weeks before it’s retired forever.

Don’t you love when house makers make decor sets to match houses? Funky Junk recently released the super pretty Beatrice house, and the new Beatrice kitchen was made to match! It’s not just pretty, it’s interactive! You can cook, wash dishes, sit around. It’s fun! For those of you who like a little more realism in your SL, this is the kitchen for you. Come on over, I’ll make you some soup!

Summer Joy

I think everyone knows that I am TOTALLY a summer girl. Nothing makes me happier than to see those temperatures rising and wake up to sunshine every morning. Luckily for me, creators are coming out with awesome new stuff to keep this summer girl happy in SL!

Jane has new mesh goodies for us! The Sweet n Low jeans are really great because they’re casual enough to wear with sandals [or no shoes at all!] but can be paired up with your favorite heels for a night out! They do have 2 length options, too, just for this reason! What I really like is that they are lower rise, BUT not so low that you need to worry about sharing the goods if you bend the wrong way. The Casey halter was just made for these jeans because it is flowy and the hem is up enough that you get a cute glimpse of belly. I know these halters will be in my summer rotation because unlike some halters I have similar to this, it doesn’t cut into my pants.

Funky Junk has this awesome Summertime Dock out at the Home & Garden Expo. It comes with the lanterns, but if you want the furniture, you can buy it separately at the Expo. The dock comes with sits, and a few length options. Both the dock and the furniture are RFL items, so buy them and you’ll be donating to a great cause!

And hello? Do you see my hair? How is the new Lola Summer mesh hair from Wasabi Pills just NOT the best little look for summer? Braided pigtails and a hair kerchief? Love! Total love!
